The heep is on all 4s for now
Well here's the new project. Haven't sifted through everything yet because I am working midnights, and just took delivery this morning when I got home. Here is a quick rundown of what I have and some of the plans.
1983 CJ7 - 258 / 5spd / d300
Frame is solid - body shot
Brand new 4" lift - not installed
pretty much a complete jeep - minus doors and top
1991 YJ tub - slightly scorched (dash fire)
many accessories - boxes upon boxes right now
Items from what I can tell:
- seats
- soft top and frame
- misc wiring
The Plan:
Strip remainder of CJ7 body off the frame, then recheck entire frame.
Install the 4" suspension lift
I am debating about the 258 - cost wise for now I may keep it, unless I sell enough XJ spares I may do a v8 swap. Either a 350/th350 or a 401.
Install the YJ tub - well need to do some prep on it first. Sand down, and also probably some kind of liner on the bottom. The dash area needs to be removed - slightly warped where fire started.
May install a body lift - we at least there is suppose to be one, but haven't looked yet.
Not sure yet - plan for final lift around 5-7" and maybe 35s?
Most of this is just thoughts thrown out for now, who knows if I even come close to doing the above items - lol. I am hoping to take my time and build it right the first time. Pics to follow sometimg today......

Deconstruction started - blessing from the misses to make this a good project. Meaning I'm allowed to spend some cash and take my time. So hopefully start shopping for a health v-8 now - either a chevy small block or 401.
Here is the fire damage on the newer tub. May try fixing the existing warped area, but also cut out that section on the CJ tub, which is in good shape. So worst case I can cut and replace.

yeah I've debated that for awhile - currently the tranny is stuck in gear so going to look at it next. Not even sure if the motor runs - though it does at least look clean. Slow but sure - I guess.
