Post: #1

I need to know the socket size for the hub nut on our 2500's so I can take my rotors off and have then turned.

Also, does anyone know the torque specs for the hub nut and the 12 pt. bolts that hold the rotor onto the spindle?

All help is appreciated and THANKS! Thumbs Up!

You told me that over chat while you were drinking the Miller. I didn't know if it was the miller talking or Marc. And to top it off I checked out another post where you said it was 2 1/8"

Hub bearing to steering knuckle bolts, 125 ft lbs, dana 60 axleshaft hub nut 175 ft lbs. The rotors are pressed onto the hub bearing and are a pain to pull apart. I remember during a hub bearing replacement that when the wheel studs were banged out it came apart easy, hope that helps...

Thanks superswamper!!! Would you happen to know the sixe of that hub nut though I just want to confirm it?

Yeah you are right about separating the hub and the rotor it was a pain but I don't do that anymore I have the rotor turned with the hub attached. Altough the best thing that worked to get those studs out was a nice brass hammer and then just grind a little off the edge where the hammer got the best of the stud.

Don't take it that way man...I do trust you but I don't have sockets that big and I don't want to have to spend $100 buying four sockets when I really only need one. Tomorrow I will go and buy the 1 3/4" as I already bought the 2 1/8" and then return the one that was wrong. And Thanks Big for your help as always Smile Thumbs Up!

OK so does anyone need a 2 1/8" socket? Cause I sure as hell didn't.

Big- Sorry man I shouldn't have doubted you but it just threw me off that you posted 2 1/8" in another post when I was searching. "YOU TOLD ME SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
