Well... I have tried to avoid all the work on my daily driver that I can, however it just never really ends.


So currently I have a 2003 Ram 1500, 5.7, lifted 6" and the likes. After my adventure with the IFS crap shattering under normal street driving, I started looking for a new truck. Was gonna get a Megacab CTD, but with fuel prices and a $60,000 price tag... not gonna happen. Next I found a 2005 PowerWagon that I was working hard to get, but the banks are retarded right now and won't give me a loan for the $10,000 extra I need. Gave up on a new truck.

Well since I know what I have already... guess I am gonna invest in a truck that I want.

Here are the plans I have in motion now.

Found a 2005 Ram 2500 frame for $1,200. Also found a 2004 Ram 2500 11.5" rear axle for $1,200.

Need to track down a front axle yet, but basically I am gonna build this frame up with lift and such, then take both up to a friends garage and work on swapping everything over.

After I get it all back together as a 2500, I am gonna get the right fender fixed (from that IFS mishap) and then for $3,000 get it painted Solar Yellow.

The whole idea here... nix the IFS crap and have a REAL axle up front.

i got it. pretty straight forward. when you gonna start doin this? what have u been driving since the dodge has been down?

Dodge isn't down at all... she is running right now and I figure this would be easier that way I can still drive while I build the new frame.

I am just waiting on an answer on the frame. I am ready to buy it tomorrow as long as it had a Hemi in it. If it had a CTD, I don't think it will work. I haven't bought the axle yet either because I am waiting on the answer on the frame.

I am pulling the trigger on it as soon as I get the answer.

Why not SFA the front of yours and switch out the rear axle? is the frame that different from a ifs to a sfa?
