Oil leak...
I just noticed a very slow oil leak between the engine and transmission. It is dripping very slowly. But what is the cause of this? another expensive repair i would imagine?

RE: Oil leak...
What would I be looking for with the valve covers?

Just to let you know, if you do replace your rear main seal yourself, there is a nice write up in the tech section thats very helpful

+1. I just used that write up the other day when I changed mine.
It's not too hard to change, just wear glasses while you're under there, I ended up getting a drop of coolant right in the eye (I was changing the timing chain also because the cover gasket was leaking). I found out that coolant burns a lot more than transmission fluid when you get it in your eye.

I noticed my valve covers leaking and bought edlebrock replacement valve covers for it, but haven't put them on yet, and just the other day I noticed a leak between the engine and trans. I figured it was the rear main seal, could this just be oil leaking down from the valve covers?

RE: Oil leak...
RAM... I would replace your valve covers first, make sure the new ones arent leaking, wipe up any excess oil that had been dripped and then wait and see if you see anymore leaking near the engine/trans. Obviously if you do well then you know what your problem is and if not well I guess you fixed it then.
