What is your favorite oddball muscle car or "banker's hot rod"? I'm not talking pony cars here; I mean big land yachts with ground pounding torque and tons of weird factory options and an 8 track player to boot.
My absolute favorite oddball musclecar has to be the '68-'70 AMC AMX. I love those cars. I love the '70 Superbee / Coronet R/T. I'd really like to find a late '60s Toronado or Eldorado and build it similar to how Jay Leno did with his Toronado. Another really cool one would be a '59 Impala wagon.

I'll take a '71 Sport Fury SE
There used to be a lady in town when I was growing up that drove a really nice white '71 Sport Fury. She had a son that was a year or two younger than me that got hit by a car and killed while riding his bike when he was about 12yrs old, and I'm pretty sure she moved out of town shortly after that.
My dad's friend had an '87 GNX (a real GNX, not a converted GN, WE4 Turbo-T or T-Type) that had only 1,000mi/yr put on it (total of 18k when he sold it). He had a bunch of extra ASC parts specific to the GNX that could only be had if you owned one, lots of literature, etc. He sold the car and all the extras for $65k in '05/'06, I believe, which was actually pretty cheap for that car.
Another of his friends had an '86 GN with really low miles (something like 20k, IIRC) that he offered to my dad for $18k about 4yrs ago. My dad actually went to the bank and planned to buy it, but got offered a '97 C5 Corvette with 12.5k on the clock a day later for $13.5k that he bought instead from another friend. The Corvette was a 1-owner, woman driven nice weather car that was bone stock and absolutely spotless. They guy and his wife are rich and were replacing it with a new C6, so they offered it to my dad for half what the dealer offered sight unseen for trade-in on it. It was kind of a no brainer on which one to pick. I told my old man to call dibs on the C6 before they trade it in. If he doesn't want it, I do. If he does, I'll take his C5.
