I remember back in the day when you couldn't post in the off topic category until you hit a certain post count. I'm all for enforcing that rule again. Especially since there is a separate category for BouncingTrucks.com now. So people coming to the site can still see and post in that. But I think the Brothel needs to be open to only those who are active members here. What's to keep a whole bunch of noobs to sign up and just do nothing but start stupid posts in the brothel? Oh wait, it's happening. Refer to these 2 posts...
I think limiting the brothel to people with a certain number in post count would be great. Then noobs aren't just signing up to play in the brothel. They are signing up to actively participate in truck talk. Then down the road they get to partake in the off topic categories. All of us old timers went through it. Just my $.02
I personally agree with this, being that I am a "Noob" I find what Crows saying very reasonable, especially if the old timers had to go through it.
Seems like a good plan to me Crow, and a good way to keep spam off this great forum

RE: Noob rules...?
I'm on a few other forums that require 5 or 10 posts minimum before being allowed to start threads in "Brothel" or "Classified" type categories. I think this will help limit the number of single visit users that show up to sell their stuff, etc. I don't think it would be unreasonable to ask for 5 posts minimum

I wouldn't qualify for the 200 minimum count. I am on PS reading up on new builds/projects/improvements/tech tips, etc on a somewhat routine basis. I enjoy the site for the fun, entertainment and technical aspects. I just do more reading than posting and therefore don't post a lot. I guess I am a PavementSucks stalker. I am truly thankful for everyone's experience and advice on here and like to utilize PS member's knowledge and resources. If you do make the minimum post count high, can you please make an exception for those of us who have at least been members for a certain amount of time? Anybody can type "ttt" or "welcome to the site" to get their post count up.

RE: Noob rules...?
I don't think you need to worry about it being 200 or something that high. It is mainly used as a means to prevent 1 time users from popping up, taking up a username, and only posting ad for their truck or parts, etc. This would only apply to the brothel and maybe the classifieds sections only, so don't worry about it.
Dkpx2, we like users like you. You do searches, ask good questions, give feedback and have a good attitude if someone messes with you a lil bit. I wish more guys like you would come on here! Best of luck with your build.
