Ok, I can't take it any more with these piece of crap thorny chickens. I finally had the truck to where I could drive it without a ton of death wobble or crack chasing. So what do I do, rotate the crap a$$ tires and the first time I drive it, I almost crash into a car because the death wobble is so bad. It is funny though because after I subjected myself to so much ridicule with my stock tires for inspection, I drove it everywhere and under every situation, there was no pulling, crack chasing, or death wobble. It has to be these suck a$$ thornbirds.
I did a search and found out a lot of info on how these tires performed off road, but I'm looking for a little info on how they perform on road.
So I am looking for a large tire that will most likely be driven 98.5% of the time on pavement. I am looking into 38" Baja Claw radials, Nitto Mud Grappler, or maybe Parnelli Jones. Also 39.5 Irok radials. I am going to keep a set of 35s for any off roading this truck will see to keep from breaking too much stuff and rubbing too bad. The new tires are for street use, highway, and towing my toys around. I'm looking for anyone who has one of these tires to tell me what they like and what they don't about each. I know the price is outragous on all of them, but if they will allow me to drive on pavement without chasing every crack and sucking the truck around on the road it is worth it.
The last tire I ran before the thornturds was 35" Yokohama Geolander MTs. They were actually pretty decent on and off road. If they came in a larger size, I think they would make a nice street tire. Never had death wobble with those
I found a set of 38X14.5X16 Nitto mud Grappler tires for $255.00 a piece. Not as crazy as I thought when compared to a radial swamper. I was just hoping someone had tried them out and could offer up an opinion on how they worked out.
