First off I put this in OT so that I will hopefully get a answer tongiht. I remember reading somewhere that when you mount a tire to a rim that you should be the valve stem in line or straight across from the D on the tire where it DOT approved. Anyone heard that before? I am getting my 40's mounted up tommorow and I want to make sure that they do it right. I just cant remember if the D goes line up with the stem or
across from the stem. And here are some pics of my new tires. They are 40X12.50 R20 Michelin X radials. They will be a great street tire and wear awesome. Also one is brand new with nipple still on it and three are at least 3/4 tread and one still has quite a bit of tread but is tore up a little bit from rocks.

The worst one. That tire in the back is just a 38" TSL. It is my spare. It is brand new.

when i mount tires, there is usually a red or yellow blob of ink i line up with the stem, otherwise they just get tossed onto the wheel and aired up

Thats a first, never heard that before. What is the purpose of lining this dot with the valve stem anyway.

Tires look good Robert.

I found some stock OEM spare tire rims. They are black and will look killer. Plus they are $50 a piece.

But which way do they go? The D goes by the valve stem or across from it?

I got them from a friend of mine. Let me know if you want some. I will get a hold of him and have him get some more. He only had 3 more right now and they werent very good for street driving. Also I would deffinately throw some 4:56's in there.

I remember hearing something about the bead on those tires being diffrent than a normal light duty truck wheel bead Poke

Hope it works tho, its gonna look killer Rob Thumbs Up!

Do they have 9.00R16s? I could rock out a set of those in that size, I think its like a 35 or 36
