I was sitting at the computer a little bit ago and I heard this noise that sounded like a bird so I just ignored. Well a few seconds later it kept on and I relized it sounded like it was in the house. So I am walking through the house and it is coming from my bedroom. So I am slowly walking in looking waiting for something to come flying at me. Well on the left side my closest there is no trim at the edge of the paneling so you can see between the door jam and the 2X4 studs a few inches away. Well there is a big [censored] snake in there with about half of a mouse sticking out of his mouth!!!! The noise was the mouse getting swallowed by the snake!!!!!!! And i remind you this is about 3 feet from my bed!! Well I have a variety of pistols and rifles and I am trying to decide how to kill this thing without making a mess and try to kill it while it is still in the wall. Then I thought about my pellet gun. I was able to get the end of the gun about 2 inches from its head. I was able to shoot it in the head a couple times and ended up shooting about 4-5 times in other places. Finally it quit moving enough that I figured it was pretty close to being dead. So then I had to dig it out of there. Luckily I was able to get it out witout tearing apart the wall or anything.
Also about a week ago I was cleaning out our parts room in the shop and we have had a mouse problem in there for a while. Well I found a 5 and half foot snake skin in there.

Should have let the poor snake live and keep killing the mice. Fry that snake up tho -- thats some good cooking.
When they are outside around the porch or the shed we leave them along. But I have to draw the line when it is in my house. We used to have 2 of them that lived under our shed. They would come out during the day and get some sun.
Not only was that snake harmless, it was doing you a favor by eating your mice. You should have left it alone. Maybe do the very simple repair on your wall to keep it out of your bedroom. Mice are a far bigger health risk.

Even with trim on the walls the snake could of got in there from somewhere. We havent even had any mice in the house in years. A couple years ago we had a couple mice in the kitchen but we set up traps and got rid of them. We havent seen any since so I guess they are up in the attic.
