basically ive got a samurai on gm 12 bolts w/ warn standard hubs... im trying to break the hubs down and clean/ service them b/c they are really really dirty on the inside, and i dont think they are engaging properly..PLUS i need to slide the stubby side axle out, this is my first time dealing with manual hubs on an older axle, any info/ links would be great, im going to try and get it put back by tomorrow mornign so i can go wheelin' thanks. and i've tried searching like 5 times, so please dont tell me just to go search.
not to be an [censored], but the fact that i just said i have 12 bolts f/r tells you what a jackass youre dealing with here, hahaha... there isnt a metal plate telling what kind of axle but i am assuming it is a GM 10 bolt then b/c i have a D44 on my dodge and it doesnt look like it... i took the 6 allen head bolts out and got the actual chrome " lock / free" part off and the retainer c-clip behind it out, but there are these little discs that look like c-clips but aren't behind that... SO i am sorta lost on how to take apart manual hubs/ get the axle out?

there is 1 retaining ring that holds the lockout in the hub and then there is 1 snap ring on the stub shaft .
once those 2 rings are out the lockout should slide right out and expose the hub bearing nuts(2 nuts with a lock ring in between them) which you would need a 4 prong socket to remove
if you are mistaken and they are not warn units but are the spicer ones, there is a spring in there behind the lockout and a plate on the outer wheel bearing to keep that spring from rubbing on it
dude, ripoff... i guess i cant unpload a pic... anyway, i got the c-clip retainer ring off, how does the snap ring behind it come out? i tried using most of the tools i have and for the life of me that little piece of crap is not wanting to play ball.
