Going to start making them- shackles, control arms, shackle flips
SKIP TO THE END OF THE THREAD... 4th PAGE.

Alright, I'm thinking about starting fabbing up stuff for sale...

I noticed that people are wanting stuff lift parts that are either hard to find or expensive.

Been thinking about making a few things.

5" short arm kits w/ relocation brackets

long arm kits similar to DC.

Shackle flips

shackles.

I haven't gotten a chance to install my shackles I made but when I do I'll get measurements and build a shackle flip.

Here are the shackles I have made

would anyone be interested in any of these things?

IDK when I'm going to start making them but I want to hopefully get a shackle flip setup made in the next month or so, I need to take mine off and figure out the mounting hole pattern.

I was thinking somewhere between $150-175 depending on how materials will cost.

Ya thats what I was thinking... When I purchased my shackle flip in 2006 they thing was 170+tax at my 4x4 shop.... they raised the price over 100 bucks.

I would resign it a lil to fix a few things that I thought were designed poorly.

If you look at mine I do not plan on making it where it wraps around the bottom of the frame, two reasons, first one, because there is no purpose in my opinion, the stock shackle mount made out of a much thinner material held on by 4 rivots. This will be made out of .250 hot rolled plate and be held on by 1/2" grade 8 bolts which are MORE than strong enough to support the load.

Second thing is, their design inteferes w/ anyone that runs a hitch since it will mount on the rear 2 bolts that the hitch mounts on, which means you need to lower the hitch an insert spacers on the front two mounting holes of the hitch to offset the shackle flip, this in my opinion is a bad idea as you put a moment on those bolts and I think that is a bigger issue than having two more mounting bolts holding it from the bottom of the frame, plus other shackle flips are designed w/ only two mounting points as well and work just fine.

Also if anyone is interested in other stuff I can make them as well.... a few things I beefed up on my truck is a t-case skid cross memeber,

Made from 2x4 rec tube, .120 wall thickness, the side supports are .250 or .188 thick...

Just to give you an idea of how strong, heres a 1/4" cut of it and I managed to unflex my suspesion w/o it collapsing.

Rear bumpers as well....

Mounts to the frame via .500" angle iron, my main body is .188 wall but I would make them out of .120 wall as the bumper itself doesn't support any of the tugging load

Held to the .500" via 3 grade 8 bolts each side, 1/2" and the inside of the bumper as sleeves like so so to make sure you will not crush the body/make it a sturdy mount.

How bout some rock sliders? - mopar rock rails are about gone across the country, and the ones still available are freakin pricey. Actually I know quite a few PW owners that would be interested after seeing how they come out.

I was considering this actually.. only thing is shipping on a 100" long package that has frame sticking out I think would be outragious... that and I can't mock them up on my truck. I was going to start making them for jeeps though as I know wranglers have all the same frames and are shorter and I'm going to make a prototype on my friends wrangler...dodge frames differ in size, I know a my first two frame mounts were like 3/16" shorter than the rest, idk how other trucks are.
