Any certain years better than others? does the 351 come stock in certain 1's or all 302's? any info on fullsized brocos would be great 1985 and up plz.
I have had a 1993, and now a 1988. I like them but they do have alot of little problems, like all older trucks. I have the 351 now, and its much better in power. The motor was optional so just look around
Well im asking for my friend... He found an 89 with 97k miles body is decent looks like it was a trail truck the 4x4 works.... they want 1500 seems to run great when warmed up kinda spuddered a bit when it first cranked and the tach wanted to jump.
anything I should check for?
and the reason im asking about the best years if he gets this 1 I might just buy 1 also.

78 79 are the best years by far. You get a dana 44 straight axle, 9" rear end, longer arms up front, still has the older looking body lines/front end, easy as hell to swap in a 460, and in my mind look beefier then the newer ones. Even further, 78 didnt require smog pump or cats, so you are even more open to imagination! In 79 they introduced EGR and all that nonsence...

Seems like a good deal, pretty low miles, spudering is something simple maybe a fuel pump? I would jump on it, I love my Bronco!

actually.... my 76 had a smog pump, cat converter, and egr when i got it. those emmisions things were standard. hell even the egr was standard back in the early 70s for the bronco....
78/79 broncos are great, standard engine was a 351, optional 400, had the t18 granny 4 speed or the c6. the motors have the same bellhousing as the big blocks, so all you really have to do to get the 460 in there should be motor mounts, radiator and exhaust. you can fit 33s stock with only minor rubbing. 80 and up broncos are nice too, they are lighter, have a little better gas milage, but they have a crappy front-end and a weeker frame. another great feature about the bronco is that they have a fiberglass top, so it is warm inside in the winter, and you can take the top off for the warm summer months.

cat and smog pump was not standard on a 78 bronco
you could very well be right. im not picking on you. rather im seriously trying to figure something out. why would a 76 have a cat and egr as standard but a 78 wouldnt be standard. if memory serves me right the smog pump was optional but i do know for a fact that the egr and cat were standard. anyone ahve an answer? id really like to know the reasoning behind this
