I used the thrust washers from each of my stock spider gears as the instructions indicated to do. According to the Powertrax rep each washer should be .032" so if I remove both of them my clearence will be slightly too large which I don't like the idea of at all. The powertrax rep indicated my clearance is too tight.
Anyone who's installed the lock right in this exact CAD axle please chime in asap. I need to figure out what I need to do ASAP as I want to get this right before anything happens.
I don't hear the lock right disengaging when I put it in 4x4 and make sharp turns at idle and it's worrying me.
Everything looked completely fine when I took apart the stock spider/top gears of my stock open diff.
I did the spin test which I grossly misunderstood before. That is pushing one tire forward and holding it there then rotating the opposite tire in the opposite direction. It worked in all directions both side. Shew. I thought the axle being locked would create issues during this test but didn't realize the axle is supposed to be locked. The key is holding the tire in the opposite direction that seems to be how this test is successful verifying the locker is working properly.
Thanks for putting up with the questions. Hopefully all of this info will be helpful for the next guy putting one of these in the front axle.
