Dodge lift help
I need a little help before I order the parts for my 99 Ram 1500.. It has the superlift 5" kit with a body lift right now..
Im wanting to get rid of the superlift coils and go with skyjacker 7" diesel coils, DC long arms and an extreme drop pitman.. I already have a track bar..
Is this everything I need to lift the front and does anyone know approx. how much lift the 7" diesel coils will give me.. I want to clear 42s with no rubbing at all..
The reason I want to go with the diesel coils is simply more lift, Im not worried about a stiff ride at all.. This truck will drive on the street some but mostly just mud..

RE: Dodge lift help
You may need a longer trac bar. But other than that, you should be set. Minus however you plan on lifting the rear some more.

Yeah im gonna get a set of springs built for the rear. Will an indexing ring be needed?

RE: Dodge lift help
Can't say it enough...BRAKE lines and shocks. Thats what I forgot and while they will work on the street and probably work off road, why not spend the dime and get new ones suited to your situation.

EGR brake lines are awesome quality and construction and I think worth the money because they will make them however long you want them. For instance I have about 5 inches of lift and had them make my stainless braided lines 10 inches longer than stock. Plenty of grow room for later.

Shocks are something that I still use as my limiting straps. I know I should probably get new ones but I hate the way our shocks run so I'll milk the old ones and have some limiting straps(shocks).

RE: Dodge lift help
Ok thats another thing i forgot to mention.. brake lines.. I just stuck a dana 60 out of an 01 3/4 ton under my truck and have everything done but the brakes.. where can i get lines to go from the 60 to my 1/2 ton, or are they the same? I haven't really paid too much attention to them this far, because I've been too busy looking for a 60 or 70 for the rear!

RE: Dodge lift help
I have a 60 for the front and rear of my truck but haven't done the swap yet but I do know the front has the same axle side mounting bracket for the brake lines. Which leads me to think the brake lines might be universal...at least I hope so cause I have some awesome EGR stainless lines that I'd hate to lose.
