Okay I had to change the subject so I might get more response.
I'm getting ready to lift my V10 98 Ram 2500, I need some lift info. I have the DC longarms, 7" skyjacker coils and an extreme drop pitman arm so far, I know I need alot more but before I go listen to a salesman I want the real info from you guys that are running these big lifts. I want a good strong decent riding lift to clear 38" Michelin tires XLsomethings. The guy at Jackit (a shop in SLC UT.) said the skyjacker kit was a lot better than the DC. How do you all feel about the 2 lifts
The skyjacker isnt a true long arms system and the 7" kit is $$$$. Sounds like your piecing together a system anyways. I ran the cepek long arms, 7" skyjacker coils, Rancho 90012x shocks, skyacker 5" pitmarm with the DT track bar.(Drag link and trac bar were parallel with that setup), EGR brake lines and 1 ton steering found in the tech pages here. Truck drove well and flexed like mad.
Dont get the complete cepek kit. The steering system sucks.
Thanks. I didn't like the short uppers on the skyjacker. What company should I go to for some 8" leafs...Atlas, Alcan or are there others that are good tough springs?

what is it about the Cepek's steering that sucks? what would be a better way to go?
IMHO 8" leafs are going to be stiff as hell and not flex very well. I got the BDS shackle flip for 4" of rear lift on stock leaf springs and then a 1" Zero Rate and a add-a leaf which is all I need to match the 7" front coils.
The truck rides damn nice and flexes in the back great (I'm working on changing the front set up right now from short arms to long).
Good shocks make all the difference in the world too. I originally had the Skyjacker Hydros with my 5" Skyjacker kit, and while they rode and performed nice for what they are, they don't even come close to the ride that I have now with my Rancho RS 9000XL's.
sorry to ask a stupid newbie question but what is a zero rate block? is it a brand or is it a special block?? I'm tihnking of doing the bds shackel flip, and i read that anyone that does the bds shackel flip puts zero rate blocks on...thanks for the help
