I have a 1995 Dodge diesel 3500 reg wheelbase, 2wd. It has a shifter for engaged or neutral on the floor where the 4wd shifter would normally be. It has what looks like a transfer case without a front input. Not sure if its some kind of pto or so?
I looked at a 1995 dodge 2500 with cummins diesel that was a 4x4 but which had the motor pulled. It's cheap (under 1000)... both driveshafts, crossmembers, transfer case, shifter linkage, font diff (both 2500 and 3500 have dana 60's). The control arms that hold the front axles in look isdentical, the sway bar links are the same, the coil spring perches look identical... it looks bolt on. Grts better... same gear ratio. Maybe have to run some vaccuum lines for the 4x4 actuator, install old dually wheel spacers and stuff like that...
At first glance, this looks like Saturday on my back. Am I missing something big? Has anyone done this? Any dodge techs that can confirm or deny?
thanks Guys- the front axle looked that way, the donor comes with a blown trans so if I need to change output shaft and housing, I should be able to get that done.
