Well, I don't spend much time on here so I bet you guys may know already, but at least something for the new guys to know.
Anyhow, the springs that Whiplash sells are made by Competition Leaf Springs next door to them. http://www.competitionleafsprings.com If you look on the site, they have the same pictures of trucks that Whiplash has on their site. I called Competition and they say they guarentee there springs and will replace them under any defects. I called Whiplash to talk to them and they admitted they buy their springs from Competition and they have a 6 month warranty on the springs in their kits (which doesn't make sense), but give a lifetime warranty on all of their manufactured parts. So I just wanted to tell you what I have found since I have been looking for a 10" lift for my '06 Cummins.
It will be cheaper for me to piece the kit together, but finding all I need is the problem. I looked at the pictures of Whiplash's site and the megacab 3/4 ton they have doesn't have the upper & lower links parrellel (sp), but they said when I talked to them that those mounts are now revised and they use the the factory rear mounts of the lower links for the upper links to go now and the kit comes with new rear brackets for the lower links to go to be a lot more parrellel now. I have read about all of the problems people say about Whiplash's springs and they don't even make them. I like the way everything is set up so I don't see what all of the bicker is about other then the springs. Keeping that in mind Brandon @ Competition said they just came out with thicker coils for front Dodges that they say will get almost 12" out of for the Cummins and that is probably update on some spring problems they have been issued in the past.
So that in mind what do you guys think? I know if you take the spring prices on Competitions site and the rest of the suspension parts on Whiplash's site to piece together a kit yourself looks like you can save some good money.
If someone can give me an answer in my other topic maybe I can save a lot more money piecing together a kit.
I would get some custom long arms from Rock Ready guy on here made for whatever coils you want, custom steering and track bar from Thurn Fab, extreme drop pitman from Skyjacker, etc.....The price of the complete kits in that size of lift is nuts...

I agree completely. What was the price on the Whiplash kit? Like $2500 or so, right? Rock Ready Guy can build you arms to your specs for about $500. Thuren's trac bar is about $300, cross over steering is about $450, 7" springs are about $200, 3" coil spacers about $80, custom rear springs $300. Someone's going to have to chime in on the pitman arm. But you should come out about $500+ ahead by doing your own kit.
do it yourself. i built mine using 7" skyjacker coils and a 3" spacer. build my own long arm setup. do a search on here, lots of info on this topic. check out the susp. forum too.
Yeah they only whiplash suspension part I got left is the rear springs. Tracbar, coil springs and 4 link are gone, wasted $2,000 . Tracbar was too long poorly made and coil springs sagged 2 inches on the right side in 6 months.
That's kind of a generic statement. I'll agree with you that their IFS stuff has always sucked, but I haven't heard anyone complain about the solid axle stuff. I know plenty of guys running their 10" coils and even a couple running their 14" coils without any problems. Don't know much about their control arms, pitman arms, etc.
