I have a 1987 Mazda B2600 4x4 with a five speed. The original engine has 170,000 miles on it. I was wondering if anyone knows it there ia any kind of larger engine that might bolt up. I know that this engine is a 2.6 mitsu engine but i have know idea what kind of tranny or the rest of the specs. the interior is very similar to a 80's toyota. I would like to put in a 4.3l chev V6 carb engine but it might be easier to completely swap in the engine/tran and transfer case. any information would be great. Thanks

RE: 87 Mazda B2600
you may want to look into the ford motors: 2.9L, 3.0L, or 4.0L. i really dont know when ford took over the b-series trucks but they would probably be your best bet for a good fit, there's a chance that you'll have to swap trans and t-case with a ford motor too. someone else with a little more motor knowledge may have a better suggestion though...
