Well I guess I will start my own build up thread. I am starting with a 86' Chevy 2500 scottsdale. So far it has 9" of lift, 38.5" boggers, 350 motor, 400 trans ,and 208 t-case. It also currently has a 10 bolt front and 14SF rear with 4:10 gears and gov-loc in the rear. I so far have built tube doors for it, pulled out the locked up 454 and put in a smooth running stock 350. I also just bought a 2.5 ton military truck today so I will be pulling the axle out from under it soon and working on getting them under the truck. THe ultimate goal is to get the motor fuel injected 2.5 ton rocks, 3-link front with coil springs, 63" springs in the rear, weld up the rocks, and either go with a set of cut 44" boggers or 44" TSL,s. Or if I manage to find a smoking deal on some 47" LTBs I would consider those too. I will be getting some pics of the 2.5 ton sunday.
Here are some pics of the duece and a half that I bought. I havent got it to the house yet but I am hoping to go get it this weekend.
The rear axle was already removed for some reason and just sitting on the frame rails.
Turbo diesel motor!
The plan is to remove the axles, driveshafts, and t-case and haul the rest across the scales. I am gonna be selling the other rear rock and I by the time I do that I should be able to get most of my money back that I have into this truck. The guy that I bought it from got it from a auction that had in town about 2 yrs ago and he just parked it here. The guy I got my chevy from had bought one too and he was able to even get it running so instead of removing the axle out from under it he ended up selling it to a friend of his. I may just for the hell of it try to get it running and if I can then I may try to sell the motor. From what I hear a lot of guys use these motors in shrimp boats so I may be able to sell it is I get it running.

So your gonna set it up just like damons blazer?
Yes but it wont be as high. Also after watching him in it this weekend I am gonna do some stuff different on the rear. I think that i am gonna go ahead and 3-link it too and do air bags. THe shackles hang down to low with leaf and will be getting hung up on stuff.
I found some parts to start the EFI conversion. I found a throttle body, PCM, distributor, wiring harness, fuel pump, and coil. I will be using a MSD blaster coil and MSD ignition that I already have. I havent got the parts yet but here are some pics I got from the guy I am getting the parts from.
Kind of messy looking but he said everything is labeled.
Also I have been thinking about it today some and I decided I am gonna go ahead and get the Rockwells ready and put them under the chevy with the leaf springs that are there already. I will be adding ladder bars to keep from getting axle wrap. And I will be collecting parts when I have the extra cash.
Also I found a pinion brake set bracket set up on ebay and I was wondering what ya'll think about the setup. It uses calipers and rotors from a 87 mazda and 87 toyota 4wd truck. The kits are $70 plus shipping, rotors are $22 a piece, and calipers are like $30 plus core charge.
Well I got the 2.5 ton truck to my house. One of the axles were already unbolted and just sitting on the frame. These damn things are HEAVY!!! I had a engine hoist picking up one side and a floor jack under the other end and it still took 30 mintues just to get the axle off the frame rails. If I had a damn concrete floor it would be a lot easier since I could of just picked it up with the hoist and rolled it. Anyways I will make do. I will also be recieving my EFI parts monday and hopefully have it all on and running in a couple weeks.
Well I only got to work on the truck for about a hour today but I did get the the 2nd rear axle out and I should have the front out in the next couple days. What I did is I cut the frame right in front of the rear axle. Then I put a chain from the rear x-member in front of the rear axle and ran it over the top of the truck and to my chevy. I then finished cutting the frame and the plan was to have the front end drop and the truck flip completely over. I put some stuff in front of the front tires but it didnt work out to good and the front tires just rolled over it. So I kept pulling the truck turned sideways and rolled over on it side. So I just rehooked the chain and rolled it over.
I am gonnna be using the old frame off of the military truck to box and make the chevy frame taller and beffier.
