86 chevy K20 Loose steering

My steering has alot of play in it. Seems really sloppy. Is there a steering box rebuild kit for my truck or could it be something else? When the lift was done all of the arms were replaced up front. Help is appreciated.

How much lift do you have on it and what arms did you replace? If you started doing the raised steering block, dropped drag link, and raised steering arm thing, than it's going to have play in it regardless. It sucks AND it looks like you ran over a swing set. If it's not your steering box, you may want to consider going to crossover. I think that's one of the best things I upgraded too on mine. Thumbs Up!

Have someone steer back and forth while you watch the joints, pay close attention to the draglink, tie rods and ball joints.

Check your steering column bolts inside the cab first. See link below:

It's IFS Cope Smile

You need to check all your front end parts befor you think it is the steering box. Jack up the front end and look for play. Try to push the tires like they are steering while you have the column locked or someone holding the wheel and look for play in anything. You can adjust the gears tighter in the steering box at the risk of them binding. IMO a steering box rebuild won't even be worth it. You can get a remanned steering box for about $160.

Sounds like your drag link ends. Mine had the same problem before I replaced them.
