Well drivin home the other day the front seal blew in my trans i just had the trans out an rebuilt so i dunno if i put the converter in wrong or the guy who rebuilt messed up on his end thats not the question i can replace a seal or pump gasket etc... I need to know if i could have done any harm to the trans it didnt happen far from home so i thought i could make it home all the fluid pumped out just as i got to the house an it reved up with no trans response in any gear now the trans wont move with any fluid correct? i hope driving it home wasnt a so after i replace whatever it is needs replaced an i fill it with fluid will or should it still be good....thanks
Higher pump pressure could be a cause. When it was rebuilt they may have upgraded the pump. I read some were that you have to bore an oil vein out to a bigger size.
Well Since weve had a nice couple of days here in lovely michigan i finally pulled the trans the seal had pushed out a lil red loc tite an a hour an half later its back on the road again. just in time for all this glouries mud hahaha!!!
99.9% of the time a front seal failure is the result of something else failing. It'll start pumping fluid out the front again and when that happens, remove the tranny and have your rebuilder go back through it and fix the problem.
