205 input shaft

got a turbo 350 and the 205 t-case with it, when i bought them they were seperated but the guy informed me that it was the transfer case for that 350. i started looking at it and the transmission output shaft sticks out about 3-4" and the 205 input has nothing to connect the two. it has the correct adapter, dont know if theres supposed to be a coupler for the two shafts, if the transmissions supposed to have a longer tailshaft housing to adapt them, or if i just got screwed. wtf

yes there is a coupler to go to the trans that sits inside the adapter
