2000 2500 4x4 Dodge Ram Front Brakes

I know on my 2004, I can just remove the caliper and take the rotor off, very easy front brake job

My father has a 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4 2500, with the 5.9L 360 gas motor, and needs to do some work on the front brakes.....

Do we have to remove the hub nut and the bearings just to take the rotor off, or does the rotor slide off easy like it does on my 2004?

Did even the 2000 2500 gas motor trucks have the Dana 60 front end?


Someone on another forum told me it would slide off......hmmm

What this always designed like this or was there a model year change?

mine slide off and i have an 02 dana 60 .....

i think pre 98 you have to remove the assembly but 99-02 will slide off, you have to remove the caliper mount but thats an easy 2 bolts

The V8 2500s have an 8-lug Dana 44, not the 60. Whatever is required to remove the rotors on a 1500 is the same for these oddball V8 2500s.

8 lug dana 44's were only for 94 and 95

The 8 Lug Dana 44 front only came in the 94-95 LIGHT DUTY 2500's with a 318. You have a Dana 60. Not sure of the exact year that they changed it so the rotor will slide off without having to press out each wheel stud but there's only one way to find out!

Once I beat them loose (rust), the rotors slid off my 2000 2500.
