Hey guys, thought I'd ask this from you knowledgeable folks. The front rotors are warped on my 96 Dodge 2500 Cummins, 4x4, 4-wheel abs. I was thinking about just changing the wheel hubs while I'm at it so I don't have to worry about them for a while. Now my question is.. Will a hub from a 2-wheel ABS truck fit my truck with 4-wheel ABS? I can't tell if the tone ring is attached to the hub or not. Also, are the hubs interchangeable between the years? A 1998 hub fit a 1996 hub?
Anyone have experience with the ebay hubs? I read somewhere that Timken makes all of them.

The tone ring is on the stub axle but the sensor is in the hub so I don't think that the 2-wheel abs hubs will work.
Ok that's great but I never thought about the sensor. I thought that was part of the knuckle.

Anyone else know if the 2-wheel ABS hubs will fit a 4-wheel ABS axle like mine?
Fit? Yes. Work properly? No. The ABS hub assemblies have the signal cable coming out of them, so no matter where the tone ring is, the signal will not get to the ABS computer without the proper hub assembly..

I believe yours is like that, but for the older trucks like mine, there's no signal wire coming out of the hub. The only wire goes to the sensor which isn't part of the hub. Thanks for your help guys. Sounds like it'll work then. Maybe that's why it's been so hard to find a hub specifically for "4-wheel abs" for my year.

Got done installing two brand new rotors, pads, calipers, and a left wheel bearing today. Just to let everyone know.. The hub assembly is the same regardless of whether you have 2-wheel or 4-wheel ABS on trucks from 94-97 (not sure on the years but that's what I assume, mine is a 96). The tone ring is part of the stub axle and the abs sensor bolts to the knuckle. The Timken part number is even the same on the computer when you look up a 2w or 4w abs truck. I ended up getting a Timken wheel bearing for the job. I figure it was worth the extra cost and it came in nicer packaging when compared to the "house brand" at Carquest and Autozone. The old bearing I pulled off the truck is Timken also. Not sure if it's the original part or not but it has 220k miles on it and it was just starting to leak a little, still good though!
