1989 wagoneer limited?

are these basically the same as a XJ cherokee? I just found an add for one for sale about 10 miles from my house, for only $600. if the guy calls me back, I'm going to go take a look at it tonight, and
wanted to get some info about it here first, is there anything in particular to watch out for? and if anyone has one, what do you like/dislike about it?

if I do end up getting it, I could use it as my DD/family hauler, and could build up the wrangler without worrying about keeping it street legal (can you say, full width axles & cut fenders!!!!)

if i remember right. Thats the one with the wood grain on the sides and dual headlights. The front end is ugly as hell

my first truck was a 1990 jeep wagoneer limited. essentially, your right, its an xj with the high end trim package. the only differences were leather trim seats, the dual stacked headlights in the front, and the imitation woodgrain on the sides. i personally loved it and still regret giving it up. you can kill that damn engine. look for rust around the woodgrain, it had a tendancy to hide behind there, you can feel it if you run your finger across. good luck

I'm not to worried about how it looks(as long as the body is solid), and it runs and drives ok. basically just looking for something to use as a DD when my wife and I can't car-pool to work.
