I am looking at an 86 TRX350 4x4, supposedly low hrs/miles, and clean. Anyone have any experience with this bike? My father in law has an 84 TRX200 2x4, and it is a really nice quad for its age and size, never lacks for power except on top end. the asking for the 350 is 1150, but am fairly sure I can get it for 1000, mybe a little less. Anything I should look out for?
A buddy of mine used to have one of those 200 2x4's, can't remember what year, and it was a good fourwheeler. I doubt you'd have anyproblems out of a 350, just make sure all the fluids are fresh and the air filter is clean. Honda's are known for quality stuff, even that old.

well if i were you id try and shake the front wheels. (wheel play = worn bearings) also, if your looking at it at the person's house, glance around at the other stuff on his/her property. because chances are if they dont take care of the other stuff, that bike wasnt taken care of either.
edit: actually i just got to thinking about it, just remembered that a buddy of mine had the 200, was an 84 model if im not mistaken. that bike was freakin bulletproof! honda's from that time period have a great reputation, if you dont see any liquids, it starts, and goes into gear, chances are its just fine. really simple motor design if im not mistaken. the only reason my buddy sold it was to buy a banshee.
If you are emchanically inclined, u should be fine. ITs a old honda. Hondas are built to last and always do. I ride kawasaki, but honda is the best reliability i have ever seen. If you can change parts urself, u will be fine. It might break somthing once a month, but after a while it will be fine. When the brain kicks out remember, the wallet kicks in!
