WHats the major differences between these dodges. Im hoping ot have my truck by the end of the week and found a 2500 that looks lifted but didnt look liek it when i checked underneath it. The 2500 is a quad cab 98 with 85,000 miles. 35's that need to be replaced. and overall good condition. The 1500 is a 98lifted about 4-5 inches ive been told. Quad cab with 31's that need to be replaced and is good condition with just over 100k miles. Does the 2500 come with a higher stance from the factory it seemed to be to high for a factory setting but maybe not. Either way i plan on lifting both a few more inches. What are the pros and cons of the 2500 vs the 1500.

id go 2500 beefeir susp and rides higher right from the factory, one thing i regret about mine is that i didnt spring for the 2500 when i was buying it.
The frame of the 2500 is 2" taller than the 1500 to allow the heavier weights (1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton). The 1500 came with D44 and Chrysler 9 1/4" axles, while the 2500 came with the heavier (and stronger) D60/D70 combo. The Dana axles are stronger, and have a larger selection of shafts, gears and lockers.
If you are planning on lift and wheelin' 2500 all the way. You get better axles, a Dana 44 on a 1500 shouldn't have anything bigger than a 36" tire when wheelin'. Some guys here run 40+ on the D60s / D70 wihtout a problem. Its 2" taller so you are already ahead.
Just like everyone said go for a 2500, you won't regret it. Take it from a 1500 owner.
HAha ok this may sound weird but are the Cabs the same size in the 2500 and the 1500? It just seemed like the 1500 had a little more room in the back seat. But i dont think it realy did. Thanks...
