SOME steel 15" wheels have proven to fit, but most aluminum 15" wheels will not due to brake caliper clearance, or lackthereof. Aluminum wheels tend to be thicker due to aluminum not being as strong as steel. As such, the thickness of most cast aluminum wheels creates clearance issues those many steel wheels don't.

Zac beat me to it. yes steel wheels will. Some aluminum wheels wont fit. Worst case, if they do rub, grind the calipers down a little.

RE: 01 1500 4x4
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4x4 and i have 15X10 cragar soft 8's. Yes these particular rims fit. But I HATE MY 15" RIMS!!! If mine was a designated off road truck it wouldn't be soo bad but it's my DD. But if your getting a great deal on some tires/wheels than maybe its better off 15"

I was thinking of 15" wheels as well. Why do you hate them so much?

RE: 01 1500 4x4
Like I said guys. If you have a dedicated off road or mostly non-highway truck than 15" rims are OK. i drive my truck back and forth to school from my home. i go to a university that is 3hrs away and the highway eats up my mudders. I'm actually going to a 17" rim in about 9 months. I got a great deal on my rims and tires when i first got my 15" (about 4 1/2 years ago). If i found a great deal on 16" or 17" rims i would jump on that. But its all just personal preference anyways. Just my .02
