I've been wanting a badash air horn since i can remember. Now i've got my truck and a little extra $$ to play with, so i want an airhorn.
My question is... who makes the best/loudest for the lowest price?
Better yet, who makes the best/cheapest trumpet?
I can find the good compressor.
Of course to anyone who doesn't have one, maybe you've read about some nice ones?
I don't want to spend more than ~$300 bucks for the whole thing. I know they get VERY expensive but i can't see the point in spending so much for something with such little use.
The least expensive I would think would be getting one off a used rig in a big truck wrecking yard.
Where you going to mount it? I've seen some guys mount them to the frame, but for me i think it would get submerged in water there...

I'm going to mount it where the spare tire goes under my ram's bed.
And yeah it'll get submerged. Wonder what it'd do to the horn? The tank + compressor is going to be in the toolbox.
I have some pics on here somewhere of my horns. They are mounted to the bottom of my gooseneck hitch plate. I dont take my truck offroad, but ive never had a problem with them. I think mine came from hornblaters and is the 150psi model. its not to loud

Well you may want to mount it on a bit of a downward angle so the water drains out, and the sound bounces off the roadway.

I thought i added that to my post but guess not. I have mine tilted down just a hair so water will run out. But during washing and driving in the rain, no issues in the last few years ive had it!
I have a kit from Seige Engineering, however I think they went under about a year after I installed it. My kit has a Vair compressor, system runs at 200 psi, and my horn is mounted behind the front bumper pointed directly down at the ground. I had it under the hood for a while, sounds better when its out in the open, and pointing down as mentioned. I think my kit was around $300 FWIW. However, I only bought two trumpets and if I did it again, I would get at least 3 trumpets.
Additionally, I'd recommend wiring the compressor into the ignition as well as a few other things. We can talk that tech once you get one though
